First problems

During the development of the SQAP (Software Quality Assurance Plan), the first problems between the members of the group appeared. Yesterday during the final revision of the document, we discovered that after the meeting session of Thursday some members of the group continued using colors, forgetting that titles should be capitalized… Moreover, versions were inconsistent, we definitely need a mechanism to keep a track of versions, just Gmail is not enough 😉

Having noticed these problems, we have decided to be more careful in future documents (the next document we have to deliver is URD). We are going to keep the same «formal» format, so we have defined a template for the document and established the font, sizes and colors to be followed. To the versions problem we haven’t found a solution yet, as we don’t know any tool for tracking the changes of written documents. So, the best solution at the moment is to add our work to the last version received by email, even if it has been sent while we were already working.

SE3 – First Revision

Last Thursday we had the first SE3 revision. The problem occurred with colors… Maybe this is all about this men-mars-women-wenus stuff (Almost fifty per cent of our group are women).

The point is we really like colors!!! We find it is so boring to place the normal, classical bullets in our documents.  Why shouldn’t we use the picassian forms or planets instead?

Anything is more fun than simple dot…  It’s going to be pretty hard year. But we can do it guys!!! Let’s be formal!!!

Work team / Equipo de trabajo

In order to develop all the documents requested in the subject we have made a group of five people, each member has a different role, trying to represent part of the people involved in a Software Engineering Project. These roles are: Project Manager, System Analyst, Configuration Manager, Quality Manager and Tester. The responsibilities of each member are the following:

Project Manager: Responsible of the project, will keep a close contact with the customer and will take into account the advice of the quality manager. Her main tasks will be keep a track of each of the products realized, organize the meetings and supervise all the work to achieve the best results.

System Analyst: His main task is to define exactly each of the functionalities of the system, in order to do that, he needs to know which are the needs of the costumer, collaborating closely with him.

Configuration Manager: His main task is tracking and controlling the changes made in the project products. He is also the responsible of the application development and of checking that all the standards are followed.

Quality Manager: She is the responsible of ensuring that all the activities necessary to design, develop and implement the product are effective and efficient with respect to the system and its performance. She will have three main goals: quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement.

Tester: His responsibility is to test all the products generated during the design and development process, checking if all the products fulfill the customer needs and the requirements of quality.

Para desarrollar todos los documentos de la asignatura, hemos creado un grupo de cinco personas, cada uno con un rol diferente, tratando the representar parte de la gente involucrada en un proyecto de Ingeniería del Software. Estos roles son: Jefa de proyecto, Analista del sistema, Jefe de configuración, Jefa de calidad y Probador. Las responsabilidades de cada miembro son las siguientes:

Jefa de Proyecto: Responsable del proyecto, mantendrá un contacto cercano con el cliente y tendrá en cuenta los consejos de la Jefa de calidad. Sus principales tareas serán hacer un seguimiento de cada uno de los productos realizados, organizar las entrevistas y supervisar todo el trabajo para conseguir los mejores resultados.

Analista del sistema: su principal tarea es definir exactamente cada una de las funcionalidades del sistema, para ello, necesita conocer cuáles son las necesidades del cliente, colaborando estrechamente con él.

Jefe de configuración: su principal tarea es registrar y controlar los cambios realizados en los productos del proyecto. También es el responsable del desarrollo de la aplicación y de comprobar que todos los estándares se siguen.

Jefa de Calidad: es responsable de asegurar que todas las actividades necesarias para diseñar, desarrollar e implementar el producto son efectivas y eficientes con respecto al sistema y su actuación. Tendrá tres objetivos principales: control de calidad, asegurar la calidad y mejora de la calidad.

Probador: su responsabilidad es probar todos los productos generados durante el proceso de diseño y desarrollo, comprobando si todos ellos satisfacen las necesidades del cliente y los requisitos de calidad.

The main aim of this blog is to summarize all the activities we have to develop during the Software Engineering III subject. We are going to write here what is the state of the documents we have to do, if any kind of argument appear in the development group, how stressed we are about the next delivery, etc, all those things so common for Computer Engineering students. As the subject belongs to the Bilingual group, we are going to write all the post both in English and Spanish. Please, forgive all our grammar mistakes as English is not our mother tongue, but we will try our best.

El principal objetivo the este blog es resumir todas las actvidades que tenemos que desarrollar en la asignatura de Ingeniería del Software III. Aquí vamos a escribir cuál es el estado de todos los documentos que tenemos que hacer, si aparece algún tipo de disputa en el grupo, cómo estamos de estresado con respecto a la siguiente entrega, etc, en fin, todas esas cosas tan comunes para los estudiantes de Ingeniería Informática. Como la asignatura pertenece al grupo bilingüe, vamos a escribir todas las entradas tanto en inglés como en español. Perdonad todos los errores gramaticales que podamos cometer ya que el ingés no es nuestra lengua materna, pero intentaremos hacerlo lo mejor posible.
